Missing Person by Gwendraith

Pagers sounded at 3.40am and both lifeboats were launched to aid a search for a missing person along the banks of the Gwendraith, being conducted by shoreside Llansteffan Mobile & Burry Port Mobile Coastguard Units.  Utilising handheld FLIR Infra-red monocular, the main boat crew were able to quickly search areas and ensure no one was in danger in or by the water, whilst our smaller ILB was able to search in the shallower waters upriver. The Rescue 387 helicopter was also tasked to help with the search.

The crew were stood down at 5.30am after the casualty was found safe and well, and returned to base in convoy.
